Hi, my name is Somin and I am originally from Korea, but I went to college at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In college, I studied accounting and the reason I wanted to go into accounting was because I wanted to get a good background of the businesses. I felt like accounting was the language of the business world and I felt like if I learned that well, I’ll be able to not only understand business world, but also know how they work and provide solutions for them in a different way.
大家好，我叫Somin。我是韓國人，我曾在佐治亞州的亞特蘭大埃默里大學讀書。為了獲得一個商科的背景，我在大學里面選擇攻讀會計專業。會計是商業世界的語言，如果我能把會計學好，我不僅能夠理解商業世界，而且還能知道商業世界的運作方式并能以一種不同的方式提供商業問題的解決方法。
So after college, I worked at PWC as an auditor and while working there, I really enjoyed my time especially because they do a lot of teamwork and it’s very project-based, meaning I’ll be doing different things throughout times, so I’ll be learning new things and looking at different industries like I mentioned earlier. And also, getting to know other businesses and how they work.
所以在大學畢業之后，我在普華永道做審計，我很享受在那里的工作時光尤其是因為他們會做很多團隊工作并且里面項目化的工作能夠讓我能在不同的時間里面做不同的事情，因此我能嘗試新的事物并且可以觀察我前面提到的不同的行業。而且，我還能夠了解其他的行業和它們的運作方式。
But one thing that I didn’t like about accounting and the public accounting world was it didn’t really give me much room for creativity and innovation. Yes, there were some aspects of my job that I could apply that somewhat, but in a whole sense it didn’t really give me room to do that in a way that I was satisfied.
但是我不喜歡會計和知名會計事務所的一件事情是它并不能給我太多創造力和創意的空間。是的，的確在工作的某些方面我可以稍微運用自己的創意和創造力，但是總體上來講，它并沒有給我足夠的空間去讓我按照我滿意的方式做事。
So that’s why I decided to come to Fuqua. And after Fuqua I would actually want to get into the tech industry, because I feel like the tech industry gives you a platform to really exercise and practice the creativity and innovation that you have. Specifically, I would like to go to Apple, because I feel like Apple is the company that drives that innovation and drives that creativity into people’s personal lives.
這就是我決定去Fuqua商學院的原因，在Fuqua商學院學習之后，實際上我非常想要去高新技術產業，因為我認為高科技產業給人一個真正練習和實踐你們所擁有的創造力和創新的平臺。我特別想要去蘋果公司因為它驅動著創新和創造力并影響著人們的生活。
